| Description: | As technical product manager, you will be responsible for the identifying market problems and writing requirements for our digital content solutions for both assessment and curriculum products. You will also own assessment and reporting as components of products owned by other product managers, collaborating across the product management team to ensure that your product areas support their product goals in order to meet market, revenue and company needs. You will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing market and product requirements, defining the product vision and business plan, and working closely with development, product marketing, sales, and services to ensure customer satisfaction and revenue goals in alignment with the company's overall strategy and goals. This role requires strong communication skills, strong project management skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and the ability to take ownership of product areas in the context of full product ownership by fellow product managers. |
| Duties: | • Contribute to and help define strategy, roadmap, and business plan for Learning.com’s suite of digital curriculum and assessment products.
• Drive success of initiatives through effective interaction with product managers and other departments
• Maintain and communicate a prioritized product delivery roadmap
• Identify new opportunities and develop clear business cases for new products and features
• Conduct market research, collaborate with sales, and interact with current customers to identify and define key market problems that Learning.com is positioned to solve
• Work with support, sales and directly with customers to prioritize defects and product enhancements
• Specify market and product requirements for existing and new products based on identified market problems
• Manage market, industry, and competitive analysis for key product areas and product lines
• Recommend pricing strategies, define business requirements, and project revenues for product lines
• Support product marketing in concert with company strategic marketing and other products, including defining product positioning and messaging, supporting the creation of collateral, participating in trade shows and conferences, and supporting online marketing initiatives
• Communicate with, train, and support the sales and service teams
• Serve as a product expert; be the product line champion from service, strategic, and product development standpoint

| Qualifications: | QUALIFICATIONS
• 5 years of product management / technical product management and/or product planning experience in the software industry, preferably including Internet-based products
• Ability to quickly and independently master product line and market.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness, collaboration, and initiative necessary to own functional areas within product lines owned by other product managers
• Strong teamwork perspective with excellent interpersonal skills and active listening skills
• Demonstrated ability to complete product planning tasks including identification of customer requirements and conversion of requirements into product features
• Ability to build business cases to justify product features and functions
• Ability to work with a development team to rapidly produce prototypes and iterations
• Passion for technology and education.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including product and business presentations to internal and external groups, both large and small
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, Business Management or equivalent
• Experience in the education industry is preferred
• Ability to travel up to 30%

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel by air.
